I appreciate very much Sen. Dan Patrick’s clear explanation of the details behind our Texas budget (posted below). However, I do want to add several points. I want to make sure that all Texans realize that the Texas State Board of Education has protected the funds in the Permanent School Fund in order to buy our public school students new textbooks (i.e., instructional materials) for the fall.
